I got messages from Statistics Canada asking me to contact them regarding a mailed survey, is this a scam?

They keep leaving different reference numbers and a contact telephone that is not in the Government web page.

It's a scam. Just SPAM it. Don't open it and read it. They want all your information to take your identity and money.
Reply:This just another big scam for your protection do not answer them or send them any of your information, they will get you if you do that .
Reply:If you have to ask than..

If its not in the Gouvernment web page than..

If its continous messages than..

Obviously, yes.

Besides, I'm sure they would mail you personally,

with demographic pages..etc..with a real gouvernment page..stamp.. (Mail, not e-mail)
Reply:Sounds like it a phishing expedition. There are SO MANYout there now. Everyone really needs to be careful even if the mail looks legit it prolly isn't. You know damn well it is if it comes from another country(especially Nigeria, and other places liek that), someone dies and you don't know them but by golly you're the sole beneficiary for this relative in BFE whatever country. They also ask for ANY personal info. Gotta love this one too - "I need to move a large sum of money to your country....deposit to your account....I will give you a substantial amount for your troubles...." WHATEVER!!! Just spam it for your own peace of mind.
