What career options do I have? Starting salaries? Would it be better to do a minor in sociology during my Bachelor degree studies too? What do you think? I'm a serious student.
If you have knowledge or experience with educational matters, college etc., that's great. If not, I would still value your opinion.
What can I do and how much can I earn after a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and a Master's in Sociology?
To gain acceptance into a sociology program at the graduate level you have to have taken at least a minimum of core courses in sociology at the undergraduate level, so yes a directed minor in sociology would likely be a good idea. A strong background in statistics is also valuable. As for career options and starting salaries, I'm not entirely sure, but I do know a Master's in the social sciences is not going to gain you a huge pay raise if it gains you one at all (compared to undergraduate degree holders in 'more useful' subject areas).
Reply:I'm guessing that the statistics bachelors degree would be more marketable than the masters in sociology. If you like math, getting a masters in statistics would increase your earning potential much more than a sociology degree. Statisticians are in high demand right now. Many universities are having trouble hiring stats PhD's because they can make so much more in industry.
