I am looking into starting my own business and it seems that Quickbooks is the best available software for small businesses, but I would like to make sure. Please, share your thoughts on the subject.
What is the best accounting software for small businesses?Provide me with proofs such as links to statistics?
Quickbooks is probably your best choice, just because it's so heavily used by so many small businesses. I happen to like Peachtree better, but the other poster was correct in saying that it's harder to find people who know how to use it, both from an employee hire standpoint and from an accounting firm standpoint. Quickbooks Pro will serve you well, I'm sure.
Just a thought-you may want to look into industry specific software if you have a business with unusual needs, like a restaurant.
Reply:I like Quicken. I use it at work. I also used it when I had a small business. I also use it at home.
Reply:My husband and I own two businesses and use quickbooks for both. I also know of several larger companies that use quickbooks as well. I highly recommend using the tutorials to get the full use of the product. You can do anything you need and many things you probably havn't even thought about yet. Mange invntory, invoices, receipts, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, yar over year reports for aspects.....I think I would be LOST without it.
Reply:Quickbooks is great accounting software, hands down. We used Peachtree for a while, but we had a hard time finding a qualified staff member that knew the program. There are many people in the job force that know Quickbooks and it is easy to use. I recommend Quickbooks Pro.
Reply:It won't bite you if you were to test it for yourself. It's a good program...as is Quickbooks Pro
Quicken: is OK except if you have inventory to keep track of. Check the features of the 3 and select which one works for you.
