Should I go to graduate school in mathematics or statistics, and where?

I'm a senior preparing to graduate next spring, and I'm trying to decide whether to go to graduate school in mathematics or statistics (I enjoy and am good at both equally). My question is two-part:

1) Which should I choose, and why?

2) For your answer to #1, what is a good school for that subject? (I'm not going to be able to get into a Princeton or MIT, but upper-level is not out of the question)

I think you have more job opportunities with a statistics degree than a math degree.

With a masters in math, your career paths are basically teaching or research or staying on in school for your phd.

With statistics, your career paths are all of the above, plus a wide array in business, such as an actuary, various business and marketing analysis, etc.

UC Berkeley has a fine program in both mathematics and statistics.
Reply:There are lies,

Damned lies,

And statistics!

The solution is Math.
Reply:statisticians get more money. Visit the department of labor web site. Once ther, go to the student section, and look up your feild of interest.
Reply:Isn't statistics a kind of math? I wasn't even aware you can go to grad school for stat.
